Commission for Scott Harrimon. Scott loves the ancient Viking story of Beowulf and I loved drawing this highly violent scene! So, that worked out just about right. >;-)

Here was the original conceptual sketch. At first, I had made the Vikings more historically accurate and Grendel more of an ogre-ish human. The client didn't want historical, though. So, the final version above was given a more fantasy flavor.
