Shim-t Ash Sba Tchau

Shim-t Ash Sba Tchau

About this Artwork

"Shim-t Ash SBA Tchau" means "House of the Summoners of Star Fiends" in Ancient Egyptian.

Here we have yet another piece devoted to Relastra the Summoner. She is an Alienist character of mine in a D&D campaign. The Alienist is a character prestige class that is D&D's answer to playing Call of Cthulhu, when you're really not. The man over her shoulder is Deltion, her lover and fellow Alienist. Note that his neck is comprised of writhing tentacles, like Relastra's hair. This is a feature, or side-effect, of becoming an Alienist. You develop more like the tentacled horrors you summon on a regular basis.

This piece was colored entirely in Photoshop 5.0. I first sketched out a rough of the figures, then scanned it in to color. The background I created entirely with Photoshop without a sketch.

Click here to see the actual size of this piece. Warning: It's is a very large file size, so only click if your computer and Internet connection can handle it. But if you can see it, do so. You lose a lot of cool details when shrinking this piece down. Especially details like the Thoth headbands, the clasp on the robe and the critter in the background.

Wow. You art is very impressive. I've looked at all of them and this one is my favorite. I love the color of the skin and the detail is amazing. The candles in the background are perfect and the symbols in the doorway almost look as if they are glowing. The eyes are amazing and the details on the headbands are great. The fact that you did the coloring in Photoshop is awesome. You have amazing talent. Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know. :D
