Nakia

Nakia (bat-femme)

About this Figure

There's a long story behind this one. This piece is as close as I could get to represent a character of mine, who's a half-bat, half-human woman. I have a illustration of her here. The original figure is supposed to be succubus. The original figure is actually nude, so I had to paint the fur coloring and costume on.

I was really pleased with the way it came out, but then disaster struck. The can of matte varnish outright lied. It was matte, but it clearly was not! ~sigh~ Now she's all shiny which kind of ruins the paint effect I worked so hard on. : (

This was very difficult to photograph as well. She's already a very darkly colored piece, but the shininess just compounded the problem.

The good thing about this piece is I had to stabilize it by gluing a quarter to the base. This gives a better understanding of the size of these miniatures. (Don't worry. I was a Canadian quarter, so I wasn't using actual money.) : )

an interesting character and beautiful, but it kinda bugs me that her wings are attatched differently...
