H.P. Lovecraft: Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos
|
H.P. Lovecraft, my favorite horror writer
from the 1920's. His stories inspired several
of my fantasy paintings that you can see
at Web
of Tentacles.
A master of psychological terror, he perfected
the art of describing the horrifically indescribable.
Real heartwarming tales of cuddly,
squid-like things that wanna suck your face
off and devour your soul. Great stuff!!!!!!!
|

The Best of H.P. Lovecraft |
The Best
of H.P. Lovecraft has loads of
terrifying tales of mind blowing madness.
The classic Call of Cthulhu and other
ghastly treats are put together in one great
collection. A nice light read... ;-) |

|
Like the books? Play the game! Ah yes,
The Call of Cthulhu speaks to me in the
middle of the night. It tells me ways on
how to conjure up scenerios that freak out
my roleplaying friends.
Good times...good times....

A Night in the Lonesome October
|
Roger Zelazny's A Night in the Lonesome
October is a great epic tale told through
the eyes of the faithful animal familiars
of Jack the Ripper, Dracula, Dr. Frankenstein
and other classic horror and mystery characters.
Light hearted, fun, humorous. Written
with the age old plot about the forces of
good against the forces of evil - and the
loyal animals who love them.

Jhereg
|
Steven Brust's tale of Vlad Taltos,
an ethnic minority-a human- who overcomes
prejudice and hardship by studying witchcraft,
becoming an assassin, and working his way
up the underworld ladder of organized crime.
He's really a nice guy, though.
This is one of the most unique and interesting
series available in print today.
|
|

The Phoenix Guards
|
Steven Brust does Dumas in this witty
and hilarious homage to the author of The
Three Musketeers.
Brust again rejects stereotype by experimenting
in a radically different style of literature,
and putting a fantasy spin on it. He stands
head and shoulders above the crowd of current
fantasy writers.

The Deed of Parksenarrion
|
This great re-released book features
all three novels in an epic trilogy, Deed
of Parksenarrion, appear in an omnibus
edition that includes Sheepfarmer's Daughter,
Divided Allegiance, and Oath of
Gold. A true hero that's not afraid
to get her feet wet, break a nail or a few
heads!
Vivid descriptions of boot camp that
brought back memories. Great battle scenes
coupled with myth, magic, tragedy and triumph!

ICON: the art of Frank Frazetta
|
Oooo, purty pictures....
Icon is a perfect title for Frank
Frazetta's new book.
His work lays the fundamental basis
for all other fantasy artists to follow.
He is the most copied and respected artist
in his field. He is an icon!
This book features some of his best works.
Simply put "Wow"! A must own
for the fantasy art enthusiast. |
|

The Art of Dragon Lance

Quantum Musings |
Funny! Charming! Witty! I can't say
enough good things about this book. A MUST
HAVE for any serious fantasy and sci-fi
enthusiast.
Where else will you read about a dinner
with God, learn about Government "conspiracies"
and how sometimes problems can be solved
with large powerful handguns all in one
book?
Fabulous fantasy adventures with realistic,
not rehashed, characters. Tales of gritty
intergalactic warfare and mystery. All the
while exuding a cutting and witty repartee'
that would make Dumas (of "The Three
Musketeers" fame) proud...Buy the book!
You won't be sorry you did!

Wildlife Art by Carl Brenders
|
Carl Brenders is a god among wildlife
artists. His depth of realism is only matched
by his depth of feeling.
I'm so glad I own this treasure of
a book. (God, I'm SO jealous!) ;-)
|
|

Robert Bateman's Natural Worlds
|
Another god among wildlife artists is
Robert Bateman. The modern day founder of
realistic wildlife art. Most other artists'
in the field emulate him.
Fame has not gotten to his head. He
still assists amateur artists with seminars
and spills all of his secrets! What a guy!

Birds of Prey
|
One of the best books on raptors
I've ever owned! I saved my pennies for
months for this book! An artists' and sculptors'
dream. This book captures some of the best
shots, at many different angles, of many
different types of raptor species.
I went to a raptor rehibilitation center
and paid through the nose for a private
showing of the birds there in order to take
pictures of them for my reference portfolio.
That experience was good, but it didn't
hold a candle to the references in this
book!
I have many plans to produce lots of
great wildlife paintings and griffin paintings
using this book. I am SO happy I bought
this!!!!
